Monitoring and Performance Tuning Oracle E-Business Self-Service Transactions
by John Spirko
Managing Oracle E-Business Suite applications is extremely complex because it combines management of technology, users and business processes. Add to this mix the varied perspectives of the different types of managers CIO, Application Administrators, DBAs, etc. each approaching problems from a different perspective, and it is easy to see why performance management is so difficult. This paper delivers a high level overview and description of the components involved in a Self-Service Oracle E-Business transaction, explains the top issues and troubleshooting options for those issues, and illustrates how Quest Software can jump start the development of a systematic performance management strategy.
This paper will combine both the technological and business biases to present a well-rounded perspective about Oracle E-Business Suite and Self-Service end-user transactions. This is the first in a series of papers focusing on the Self-Service architecture and it assumes a general understanding of web and database concepts.
