Weird one this: Mellow old trad-rocker Tom Petty has been banned from owing guns after he was arrested for "going mad" and disturbing the peace.
Authorities have confiscated Petty’s guns and he is no longer allowed to keep one in the house. Apparently, Petty had been using the guns to relive stress by going out and shooting stuff. This is what the 70s star has to say for himself: "I can never have a gun in the house. I'm not allowed. I've had mine taken away for disturbing the peace. There were times when I'd just start shooting. Not at people, but I'd go out and kill a tree. When I'd get mad, I'd take a gun and kill some inanimate object. So it was the right thing to have the guns taken away. They're dangerous." Wow, no shit! What is it with old rock stars and guns? Did they learn nothing from Arthur Lee and Phil Spector? - TALK! |
