The FIA International Court of Appeal met in Paris on Monday, November 27, 2006, to examine an appeal lodged by the Svenska Bilsportförbundet (SBF) on behalf of its competitor Per-Gunnar Andersson against decision N°6 of the Panel of the Stewards of the Meeting taken on 15 October 2006 at the Rally of Turkey, run from 13 to 15 October 2006 and counting in the 2006 FIA Junior World Rally Championship.
The national Scrutineer reported to the Stewards that during the event car N°35 had entered a light fitting zone and that team's mechanic had carried out works which were not permitted within that zone. As a result, the Panel of the Stewards of the Meeting excluded car N°35 (team Per-Gunnar Andersson/Jonas Andersson) from the event.
Having heard the explanations of both parties and having examined the various documents and other evidence, the Court confirmed the Stewards' decision.
The International Court of Appeal was presided over by Mr Philippe NARMINO (Monaco), elected President, and composed of Mr Vassilis KOUSSIS (Grèce), José MACEDO e CUNHA (Portugal) and Mr Philippe ROBERTI de WINGHE (Belgium).
