Nelly Furtado's Playboy Offer...

SubtitleThe folk fairy-turned-raunch-bucket tells MTV all about her Playboy offer...Subject MatterBodyNelly Furtado has revealed to MTV that she was once offered megabucks to pose for 'Playboy' magazine. And although the singer turned it down - she says she still wouldn't rule it out. "I (was) offered half a million dollars to pose fully clothed," she said. "(To do it would be a) vanity thing, an egotistical thing? It?s not to say that I would never do it. It?s intriguing, it?s very tempting. It?s got to be under the right terms. We will see what happens." The 'Maneater' minx also revealed she's feeling at the peak of her sexiness these days. The 28-year-old chanteuse said, "For me, I am a late bloomer. I have grown into my sexuality. Not with a false sexuality as a 20 year old. "My videos are real expressive and I get to channel a lot of energies. Including sensual energy. I?m pretty satisfied. "When I look back from ?I?m Like A Bird? to now with this third album, it?s really fascinating for me... I was youthful and innocent." But she's not about to start parading around in barely-there togs either. "If you wanted to be naked everyday as a pop star, you could be naked everyday," she said. "There are people that would love you to be naked every day. But myself, I would like to save a little bit for the bedroom. It?s something to be preserved a little bit for myself." Go girl... CSS to Play With Brit Pop Star...

SubtitleBrazilian act to unveil surprise guestSubject MatterCSSBodyThe Guardian called them ?the hippest band of the year? and MTV has been playing their videos for ages but CSS look set to end 2006 with a massive surprise. Rizla are hosting hosting an exclusive one-off gig with Brazilians CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) featuring a cameo performance from ?one of UK music?s most popular artists?. Taking place at The Forum in Kentish Town this Friday (8th December), the gig looks like being one of the hottest tickets in town and everyone is being very secretive about who the guest is. Apparently CSS were asked by Rizla, to choose their most inspiring musician to perform with at the finale of their London show. The identity of the inspiration is being kept a closely guarded secret, but is claimed to be ?a bona fide Britpop icon". Lead singer, Lovefoxx says of the gig: ?When Rizla first approached us about who has inspired us and would like to play with, we never really thought it would happen as this person is such a legend and we?re so new to the UK music scene. We now can?t wait to entertain London with an unforgettable kick ass show. It?s been an amazing year for the band and this is a really special way to round it off.? So who is it? Our money?s on Jarvis Cocker but as soon as find out we?ll let you know. Is This Man the Greatest Metal Vocalist Ever?...

According to Hit Parader, which has compiled a list of Heavy Metal’s All-Time Top 100 Vocalists, Robert Plant is the best singer the metal world has ever heard (get the full list after the jump). Also in the top ten? Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Queen’s Freddie Mercury, Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson, both Ozzy (who would be our pick for #1) and Ronnie James Dio and um, Steven Tyler. Right there you start to get the sense that this list of metal vocalists is more like a list of any vocalists. Kurt Cobain, who is apparently a necessary part of any list of rock icons, no matter what the parameters, comes in at #20. Gavin Rossdale (no, seriously) charts at #75, Scott Stapp at #68, and in an interesting section midway through we have the apparently secretly metal British trio of Rod Stewart, Ray Davies and David Bowie. Right. So this list needs some work. How would you fix it? [via Hear Ya: An Indie Music Blog] 01. Robert Plant 02. Rob Halford 03. Steven Tyler 04. Chris Cornell 05. Bon Scott 06. Freddie Mercury 07.
