Proceedings Cover

Proceedings of the ARL Membership Meeting

ARL members meet twice a year to discuss issues of concern to North American research libraries. Informative and educational, the proceedings include papers from leaders in the higher education and library communities, as well as the text of discussions. Each meeting, and thus each volume, is devoted to an in-depth exploration of one, timely topic. Print proceedings are available up through the 133rd Membership Meeting (October 1998). Beginning with the 134th Membership Meeting (May 1999) the proceedings are online only.

SPEC 256 Cover

SPEC Kits

For over 25 years, SPEC Kits have examined current library practices and policies and served as resource guides for libraries as they face ever-changing management problems. Based on both survey results and documentation from ARL member institutions, they are composed of an executive summary, survey results, supporting documentation from participating institutions, and selected resources.

Transforming Libraries Logo

Transforming Libraries

From October 1996 to September 1999, ten issues of Transforming Libraries were published within the SPEC Kit series. Transforming Libraries focuses on how libraries are using tools and technology to transform library operations and services. Each issue seeks out pioneering individuals and institutions and reports on their innovative activities in a specific operational or service area. Transforming Libraries combines a print publication and a corresponding website with links to other sites related to the topic.
