The Doha 2006 Countdown Clock ticks ever closer to the moment when the Opening Ceremony explodes into life on 1 December 2006, signalling the start of 15 days of red hot competition and spectacle that is the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006.
Guarded by a 16m high representation of Games mascot Orry the friendly oryx, the Doha 2006 Countdown Clock along Doha's signature Corniche was set ticking on its way during a huge Ceremonial Festival on 31 December 2004, marking the time remaining to the Games. Since that day the clock, mirrored by the countdown on this web site, has faithfully marked the passing of the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the start of the Games.
Tissot, the famous Swiss watchmaker, is the official timekeeper for the 15th Asian Games Doha 2006, a partnership which underlines Tissot's commitment to sport and timekeeping, and the importance the company places on its presence in Asia. An army of technicians, more than 35 tonnes of equipment and 30km of cabling will be used during the two-week sporting extravaganza, the biggest sporting event in 2006, which begins on 1 December.
