 Mactel-Linux is the effort to adapt the GNU/Linux operating system to Intel-based Apple Macintosh hardware. This requires changes/additions to at least the following projects:
This site is not about Linux distributions for Intel-Macs, but about developer communication. News09 Jul 2006: Kernel 2.6.17 patchset is in SVN. 13 Apr 2006: 2D/3D Acceleration works with BootCamp and the latest ATI Drivers. 03 Apr 2006: SVN SVN is used insted of CVS 27 Mar 2006: LiveCD New LiveCD is up. Improoved Macbook Pro support. Partition mounting works now. Latest Ubuntu updates. Dualboot Intel Mac/PC 25 Mar 2006: Updated Kernel Patch Updated Kernel patch for 2.6.16 is in CVS. This patch have also Smart Battery Support for the Macbook Pro. There is also a new console imacfb, based on vesafb. Updated kernel binary and elilo.conf. Added xorg.conf to cvs. 22 Feb 2006: Knoppix and VMware The guys from http://www.osxbook.com/ have Knoppix running, as well as Windows XP inside VMware. Look at their site for details. 21 Feb 2006: New Patch A new patch is in CVS imac-2.6.16-rc4.patch. Fixes a Linux EFI bug and add PATA support to the SATA driver 20 Feb 2006: Email Corrected my contact email ;) 19 Feb 2006: Onboard Network Onboard network works. It was simply a misconfiguration of the kernel config. Changed kernel config file, elilo.conf and vmlinuz in CVS. 16 Feb 2006: Linux boots Linux boots on the 17" iMac Core Duo, due to gimli's work. |
