Site requirements for adobe.com

Adobe suggests that you upgrade to a recent browser and that you have the latest version of the free Macromedia Flash Player installed in order to use the adobe.com website as it is intended. You may experience problems without the most recent version of the Macromedia Flash Player and/or supported web browser. This TechNote covers information about the adobe.com site requirements.

Macromedia Flash Player requirements

We make use of features found in Macromedia Flash Player version 7,0,19,0 and higher. You cannot use certain sections of our site without this player.

Note: If you do not know which version of the Macromedia Flash Player you have, you can test your player at theMacromedia Shockwave and Flash Player Test page. Just roll over the "About" button in the Flash Player portion of the page and you should see the version of the Flash Player you have installed. If you are having problems installing the Flash Player, see the Flash Player Support Center.

Browser requirements

The adobe.com website is supported on the latest versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla and AOL. In order to fully experience the adobe.com site, please upgrade to the latest version of one of the following browsers:

At this time adobe.com does not fully support the following browser/versions. Adobe is actively working with these companies to resolve issues with the following browsers.

  • Netscape 6.2 and earlier (Mac and Win)
  • Internet Explorer 4.x and earlier (Mac and Win)
  • Opera (all versions and platforms)
  • Camino 0.7
  • Mozilla 1.3 (Macintosh OS X)

Other requirements

JavaScript is used for key functionality on adobe.com. Because of this Javascript 1.2 or later must be enabled.

  • Enable JavaScript in your browser. Consult your browser's Help section for information on how to change this setting.
  • Upgrade your browser to a version that supports JavaScript 1.2 or higher (see browser list above).

Cookies need to be enabled for certain portions of our site.

Viewing preferences need to be set to view Macromedia Flash content. adobe.com allows you to set a viewing preference. If you have set your preference to just see the HTML version, you will not be able to see Flash content on parts of adobe.com.

  • You can remove your viewing preference and allow adobe.com to show Flash content by clicking the following link. Clear your viewing preference and go to the adobe.com home page.
