Get into the Groove

We've had a lot of interest in Groove since we ran our "Introduction to Groove" TechNet session last month.  Groove is an interesting phenomena.  Until you've actually been part of a Groove workspace and seen how effective it is, then you don't tend to be all that bothered about what it can do.  But as soon as you've used it, then you're away and evangelising about how fantastic it is like the rest of us.  It's almost a viral evangelical wave spreading amongst aficionados of Groove.  I caught the bug from James who has been evangelising it for ages.

Well I'm pleased to tell you that we have a Groove User group starting up here in the UK.  Jim, who evangelises about Real Time collaboration amongst other things, has been pressganged volunteered to run this.  I'll share more details when the User group finally gets going. What do you think?  Do we need a Groove user group? running on Groove? sharing information.. sounds good doesn't it?

That's it Jim - you cant get out of it now...

Hmmm.  I click http://www.microsoft.com/technet/technetmag/issues/2006/10/IntoTheGroove/default.aspx and get a page starting: In today's global economy, your project teams may be spread across departments, offices, time zones—even continents. And thanks to rapid advances in computing technology and the

proliferation of broadband Internet and mobile devices, you face increasing expectations of service quality and availability. More than ever before you're likely to be working with people you've never met in person. At the same time, you need to work with team members in context and without worrying about the underlying complexities of secure communication and data synchronization

Anyone else have a problem accessing the page? (it's from the October edition of the technet mag...)

Hi Eileen:

I think the idea of a Groove User Group running on Groove and using its various features is brilliant and I would join in a heartbeat!

To add to the idea, I think it would be great to do some TechNet webcasts using Groove so that we end up with more than a .pdf or a crippled read only).ppt at the end of the webcast.

Groove would change the whole learning experience.

When do we start and where do I sign up?
