i came over an interview with the two of them from the time right after they released their first record. they both said that writing was their main priority. they doubted they would continue playing for more than a couple of years(!). thank god they did. some of the most beautiful music ever made.

I dont know most of paul simons solo stuff, but when he was with simon and garfunkel, the lyrics were really good. But now I have alot of bob dylans earlier albums, like before 1968, and they are really good. So now im not sure.

Paul Simon has some fantastic lyrics, but better than Dylan's? I'd say Paul Simon's music throughout the ages was more consistantly fantastic (not necessarily more fantastic though), but I'm not sure if he could beat Dylan's lyrics in my book. To each his own I suppose.

Kathy's Song and April Come She Will are killer tracks. Goosebumps every time. Although, I must say, I celebrate their entire catalog.

lol No i like dylan, but im saying that as a whole, the majority of paul simons lyrics are better. Bob Dylan is a great writer.

I have a rather controversial view. I think paul simon is a better lyricist than bob dylan.

I agree with Miklitov, as far as I'm concerned A Hazy Shade of Winter is their best.
