Sales Engineer

Location: Renton, Washington
Salary: Competitive salary and compensation package, Dependent on Experience
Reports to: Director of Sales

SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the Sales Engineer is a key component to the day-to-day activities of our sales efforts. The Sales Engineer is responsible for providing customers and our Sales Team members with technical product advice, preparing proposals, effectively delivering Software Demonstrations to potential and existing clients, and involvement in closing business in conjunction with the sales team. The Sales Engineer will work with customers to shorten the sales cycle by overcoming technical hurdles within these accounts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and perform detailed product demos and prototypes
  • Provide documentation and detailed instructions to tell customers how to use our products
  • Answer detailed technical questions from sales people and potential customers
  • Provide guidance and expert advice on technical issues
  • Maintain and advanced understanding of all Parallels products and services
  • Prepare technical proposals and project cost estimates based on customer specifications
  • Manage customer contract issues including terms, delivery, and payment schedules
  • Develop project concepts and project proposals to solve customer needs and requests
  • Coordinate efforts with Management and Engineering to meet proposal deadlines, project commitments
  • Work with Account Executives and Sales Management to effectively schedule the use of technical resources to support direct sales and channel partner efforts
  • Coordinate all activities related to technical sales support for potential customers and existing accounts
  • Convince prospects of the value of our products, services and Parallels in general. This includes development and delivery of pre-sales presentations and material
  • Qualify and coordinate evaluations and demos to assist in the sales process
  • Other duties and responsibilities associated with team and company efforts

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Some evening and weekend work will be required
  • Some travel is required to customer locations

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in technical sales support, software industry desired
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstrations, sales techniques and sales control systems
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction
  • Able to present technical concepts in a clear manner to customers through demos and proposals
  • Experience with a technology-based product and an ability to understand high-level technical concepts
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Willingness to actively participate in a sales team and company efforts

SALARY & COMPENSATION

  • Competitive Salary. Dependent on Experience
