Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com gift certificates can be used to purchase almost anything in our store, including most items sold by Marketplace sellers and Amazon Merchants (except The Bombay Company, Circuit City, Eddie Bauer, Newport News, Nordstrom, Spiegel, and Ultimate Outlet Brands). For more information, see the Fine Print above. Sending E-mail Gift Certificates: When sending e-mail gift certificates, please be aware that some e-mail programs may block or even delete e-mail messages which originate from an address not specified by the recipient as an accepted address. All Amazon.com e-mail gift certificates are sent from gc-orders@a2zgiftcerts.amazon.com. If you are concerned that your recipient may have e-mail filters turned on, you may want to send or reissue the gift certificate to your own e-mail address and then forward it to them or print it out to give to them. Redeeming Gift Certificates: When you enter the certificate's claim code for the first time, the certificate is automatically redeemed onto your account, and this information is logged into our database, even if you don't place an order at that time. After you have entered the claim code once, you do not need to enter it again--even if you back up and change other information in the course of placing your order. If you receive an error message that the gift certificate has been redeemed, and the funds are not being applied to your order, it could be that you have more than one Amazon.com account, and that the funds are redeemed to one of your other accounts. Questions about purchasing or using a gift certificate can be sent through our Contact Us form online.

It's a Gift that you would use for sure.., April 11, 2007
Reviewer:stacey - See all my reviews
I especially love being able to redeem the certificate straight to my account to store it for future uses. That way I can delete the email (or move it to archives) without ever needing the certificate number again! Amazon automatically applies the certificate to my order and lets me pay the balance any way I want or save it if I haven't used it all. I got the gift thru another service.

Hopefully I get many more.. :)

The best SPAM I ever received, March 23, 2007

I've received two of these so far: once by surprise and the other for a birthday present. I'm about to send one as a gift. Never had a single problem.

One recommendation: send this kind of gift only to someone who is comfortable buying online and relatively internet savvy. Otherwise, a normal gift card in the mail to a brick & mortar bookstore is a better idea.

No problems!, March 22, 2007
Reviewer:Zmaz "Game On!" (Michigan) - See all my reviews
Despite what many people have said, I have received 3 Amazon gift cards, 2 by email, 1 by mail, ordered from London, and all 3 of them worked perfectly, and had the full balance. Combined with Amazon's huge assortment of items --- 5 stars!

My girlfriend deleted the email thinking it was junk, but Amozon customer service fixed the problem quickly., March 22, 2007

I sent my girlfriend a gift certificate to her email for her birthday. I did read the reviews before hand, and I was a l ittle worried that I would have problems with the service. The certificate showed up just fine, but thinking it was junk mail, my girlfriend deleted it. Now I was worried. Reading the reviews I htought it would be a major hassle getting it re-sent. I used the service on the website where customer service calls you back, they called right away, and after a hold time under a minute, all I did was explain the problem, and that I needed it re-sent, and it was resent. The lady said it could take something like 24 hours to show up, but I checked right then, and it had been re-sent and received in my girlfriends email. I was actually surprised at the good service.

It came as a pleasant surprise..., March 14, 2007

when I received my Amazon Gift Certificate in my email. It was a gift from an organisation that I volunteer for and apparently I was doing a really good job. Well, I did cover a lot of nights at the shelter. But it was a really nice Xmas surprise and very little surprises me anymore about Xmas.

And it was never easier to redeem it. All I had to do was get over some minor confusion about the certificate's number. So I got two movies (In The Mood For Love and The Passion of Joan of Arc) that I really, really wanted, wanted for quite a while, and then kept the balance for some future reference.

Which in this instance was my nephew's birthday.

Not an easy task!, March 13, 2007

Okay, so I read the reviews and figured I had a 50/50 shot at having everything work out okay. My first mistake was thinking that I would be one of the lucky ones! I did take some of the advice (and I suggest you do too). I did have the e-card or gift certificate or whatever sent to my e-mail address so I would know that it was received and so I could personally forward it to the birthday person. Thank you all for that advice as I did not received it!! I went into my Amazon account the next day and saw that I could re-send it and I thought "great, that's easy"! I didn't receive the certificate the second time either. Now, I had to figure out how to get in touch with Amazon, sit on hold, have the person helping me get a code from their supervisor (all of this took about 12 minutes) and then I was told it was sent. I told them I was in my e-mail and it was not in there, so.... they sent it again and I FINALLY received it. I don't think I'll purchase anymore from them. I just don't have the time to follow up on them!
