Tournament.com has struck a deal with Valve Software to become the only official site where you can play Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch for cash prizes.
Based in the UK, in Norwich, Tournament.com aims to create pay-to-play tournaments where the entry fees are distributed to the winners of each game. An introduction to the service can be seen and heard on YouTube.
Reported on Next-Gen.biz, gamers can obtain a client from Tournament.com's website that's required for official matches, and players put money into an account from which they draw wagers to place on matches. The tournament service, which is restricted to those 18 years old and over, should go live in May.

"We've worked hard to create a fair and equitable environment for people to compete for money, and offering Counter-Strike: Source and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch completes our attempt to become the world's leader in this service," Tournament.com co-founder Marcus Pearcey commented.
