�Just Jackie�, parenting expert and author, Jackie Dryden, has devoted herself to developing great communication skills for parents to use with their kids.

Great Tip!

She has a great tip for those times when you�re just too busy to pay attention to whatever it is your child wants to tell you. We all know that even the most conscientious parents have times when they can�t stop whatever they�re doing to listen to what their kids have to say.

That�s when Dryden uses her �NOT NOW� card.

When you�re just too busy to listen to your child, hold up the card. On the back of the card, where you can see it, it says: Take a Breath; Think of something pleasant; Let your child know you�ll get back to them; You have one hour to get back to them and listen to what they need to tell you.

And when you do get back to them, remember to really listen!
