Information: National Awards for Boy Scout Leaders

There are two adult awards for Catholic Boy Scout leaders.

The St. George Emblem is the highest national recognition made available to Catholic Scouters. To be eligible, a Scouter must have served at least ten years to Scouting and to the Catholic Church.

A Scouter is eligible to receive The Bronze Pelican after three years of service to Scouting and to the Catholic Church.

The purpose of religious emblems is to honor the outstanding service of Boy Scout leaders who have contributed to the spiritual development of Catholic youth through the BSA programs and to encourage continuing involvement by faith filled adults in the Christian formation of youth.
