Isaac Hayes, Bono, Booker T. & the MGs and Jesse Jackson are among the names weighing in on the legacy of Stax Records in an upcoming documentary. "Respect Yourself: The Stax Records Story" will air Aug. 1 on PBS, featuring home movies, concert performances and behind-the-scenes footage from some of the legendary labels' performers.

Crafted by directors Robert Gordon and Morgan Neville, the film tells the story of the Memphis soul label's birth in 1957 through to its dismantling in 1975. The documentary includes outtake material culled from the 1972 WattStax concert, a rare new interview with Stax founder Jim Stewart, performances from Otis Redding, Hayes, Booker T. and Mavis Staples.

Sam Moore, Elvis Costello, Eddie Floyd, Carla and Rufus Thomas, Albert King and other admirers and label acts also detail their own thoughts about Stax.

As previously reported, Concord Music Group recently reactivated Stax with the signing of Hayes and Angie Stone and the two-CD, 50-track anthology "Stax 50: A 50th Anniversary Celebration." A number of events have also been hosted at the Stax Museum of American Soul in Memphis.

For a second consecutive week, the top three slots on the Billboard Hot 100 are unchanged. Plain White T's' "Delilah" inches up 5-4, while T-Pain's former No. 1, "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')," drops 4-5. More...

Elton John, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Robert Plant and Willie Nelson have put their own spin on Fats Domino hits for an upcoming charity tribute album, due Sept. 25 via Vanguard.
