INTRO

Moviestorm Limited is a fast growing entrepreneurial company based happily in offices in Cambridge, UK. Moviestorm is owned by Short Fuze Limited, which is a venture funded company based in Cambridge UK.

Moviestorm Limited is delivering Moviestorm the application together with an online service and the social network for the exploding market of amateur video content creators. The Group of companies is determined to help the millions of people who think the idea of making movies is cool.

Moviestorm Limited's parent company, Short Fuze was founded in 2003 by Cambridge entrepreneurs Matt Kelland and Dave Lloyd. They had formerly been with pioneering mobile phone publisher/developer nGame, which they had founded in 1998, and which subsequently became part of the Mforma group (now HandsOn Mobile) in autumn 2002.

Short Fuze began researching into emerging forms of media, and in particular, innovative ways in which game technology could be applied to non-game environments and media. The company has undertaken a wide variety of consultancy work, covering game design and production on a range of platforms, as well as Java programming and development. The company has also advised a number of academic institutions in the UK on setting up games-related courses, including the game art and design BA course at Norwich School of Art and Design.

In summer 2004, Short Fuze began to focus on the field of machinima. It?s debut demo film, No Licence, received critical acclaim, and has been regularly shown at film festivals, game conferences, art installations and on television worldwide ever since. Building on this experience, Matt Kelland and Dave Lloyd were principal authors of Machinima, (Ilex 2005) the first book on the subject for the general reader. In autumn 2005, Short Fuze received investment from a consortium of private and institutional investors in order to found Moviestorm Limited and develop the Moviestorm community and the Moviestorm application.

Since then, the team has continued to grow, and has raised further money to ensure the Moviestorm product and the web community can be developed. Growing from two founders in April 2006, to a team of 5 at October 2006, the group is now (in June 2007) a team of 14 together with outsource partners, investors and commercial partners.
