  Homilies: Archbishop Weakland Acknowledges Past Wrongs Harmed Jewish Community
 
 
  In a November 7 homily during a joint worship service sponsored by the Catholic-Jewish Conference, Archbishop Rembert Weakland acknowledged past wrongs by Catholics against the Jewish people. Archbishop Weakland asked God's forgiveness for himself and for Catholics in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.

The homily was part of an event entitled "Proclaim Jubilee," organized, in part,because of the fast-approaching Jubilee Year. Reconciliation is part of the overall global theme for Catholics during Jubilee Year 2000.
