The Chancery Office can provide helpful information regarding church
requirements for marriage preparation and wedding celebrations. Catholic
weddings are ordinarily to be celebrated at the parish church of the bride
or groom. Catholic weddings are not celebrated out of doors.
Arrangements with the parish should be made at least six months in
advance of the wedding date, and the required preparation process begun at
that time. Marriages between a Catholic and non-Catholic can be celebrated
in the church of the non-Catholic partner provided the proper authorization
is received in advance from the Chancery Office. The Catholic party's
parish priest will assist in the instructions for marriage and in preparing
the necessary documents for weddings. |
