N.Y. aims to improve first impressions
  Concerned with a decline in the number of international travelers visiting the United States, New York City is launching a welcome program meant to polish the city's image and greet tourists before they leave the airport, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced Wednesday.

  Last week, the Department of Homeland Security placed a notice in the Federal Register outlining a plan to expand the department's uses of the personal information it has collected about foreign travelers entering and departing the United States. In a separate notice, the department also outlined plans to exempt this information from the Freedom of Information Act, effectively making it top-secret. Charlie Leocha thinks it may be time to call your congressman.

Your business trip itinerary is tightly packed — red-eye flight, a two-day stay jammed with meetings and an early morning return. You'll definitely need a car to get around town.
