Formal 30-minute presentations; two papers presented per one-hour time slot.

- Poster Sessions
Informal, two-hour exhibit-style presentations focused on the sharing of curriculum, staff development, or administrative ideas.
- Global Gallery
Informal, two-hour exhibit-style presentations focused on the sharing of international projects, curricula, and promising practices.
- Student Showcase Sessions
Informal, two-hour exhibit-style presentations featuring students sharing their classroom projects and activities.
- K–12 Interactive Videoconferencing Showcase Sessions
Half-hour presentations by IVC leaders and innovators showcasing their programming content and classroom initiatives via videoconferencing from their home locations.
- "California Gold" Sessions
One-hour presentations highlighting California-based programs, projects, and resources.
- EETT Showcase
One-hour Western Region Sessions led by educators implementing EETT grants in Arizona, California, and Nevada. They cover the management, delivery, and evaluation of EETT programs from those on the leading edge of innovative and successful programs.
- Hands-On Open Source Demos
One-hour demonstrations featuring hands-on practice with many kinds of open source software. 24 stations available on a first-come basis.
- Playgrounds
Informal all-day exhibit-style presentations featuring interactive hands-on demonstrations of technologies and resources available for various disciplines.
- Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions
Informal, one-hour roundtable discussion format providing a special opportunity for like-minded educators to gather and network.
- Meetings and Focused Gatherings
Gatherings of various ISTE constituencies. Some events may require pre-registration and/or additional fee.
- Extras (open events)
Networking with colleagues is a vital part of NECC.

July 5–7, 2006
Those who've attended NECC in the past will notice a change from our usual program:
- The main conference days will be Wednesday–Friday.
- Workshops will be held Wednesday–Friday, both days and evenings. A limited number of workshops may be held preconference.
- The Opening Reception is on the 4th of July! It'll be held at the San Diego Convention Center, a perfect location for viewing numerous fireworks displays over the water — be sure to bring the whole family!
Please keep this schedule in mind as you make your travel and hotel arrangements!
