Social events for registered attendees

All registered attendees, registered guests, and exhibitor personnel can take part in the 4th of July Party and Opening Reception, the Wednesday Evening Exhibit Hall Reception, the Thursday Night Social, the Friday Morning Fun Run/Walk, and the Friday Afternoon Ice Cream Social in the Exhibit Hall. The Opening Reception and Thursday Night Social are open to non-registered family members.

NECC offers the following special rates:

  • ISTE Members
    The ISTE Member rate is available to all current ISTE members and those joining ISTE at the time of registration.
  • Groups of 10 or more
    Group Members who are also ISTE/CUE (CA) members may register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $145 at any time. Other Group Members (General Public) may register at the Super-Early Bird rate of $199 at any time.
  • Presenters
    Presenters who are also ISTE/CUE (CA) members may register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $145 at any time. Other presenters (General Public) may register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $199 at any time.
  • Volunteers
    Volunteers who are also ISTE/CUE (CA) members may register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $145 at any time. Other volunteers (General Public) may register at the Super Early-Bird rate of $199 at any time.
  • Guests
    The $60 guest fee (one per attendee) allows entrance into the Exhibit Hall (16 years old and older). Does not include attendance to sessions or workshops.
  • Full-Time Students
    A student rate of $95 for a full registration is available to full-time students who show proof of enrollment at the time of registration. Please provide your student ID number and school name. No one younger than 16 will be admitted to the Exhibit Hall.
  • Retired Educators
    In support of retired educators, NECC is offering a discounted rate of $95 for a full registration.

Cancellation Policy
Conference Registration cancellations, will be accepted through June 26, 2006. Deadline to cancel Tours is May 26, 2006.

Full registration cancellations will be subject to a $25 service fee. After the cancellation deadline, no refunds will be granted for cancelled registrations. If you are unable to attend, you may substitute another individual in your place at no extra charge, but the replacements' registration fee will be subject to pricing based on her/his ISTE Membership status. NOTE: ISTE Memberships are nonrefundable and nontransferable. The approved refunds will be processed following the conference in August 2006.

Registration Confirmation
For all registrants providing e-mail addresses, final confirmations will be sent via e-mail beginning June 2, 2006. Otherwise, postal confirmations will be mailed beginning June 5, 2006.


Continuing Education Credits / Academic Credit

Certificates of Participation/Attendance
NECC will provide attendees with certificates to document their participation in the conference and attendance at workshops. Certificates of Participation for the general conference will be available at the Information Booth beginning Wednesday, July 5. Certificates of Attendance will be available in each workshop and, in some cases, must be signed by the workshop presenter. Please check with your district or state to see if this is a requirement before coming to NECC 2006.
Academic Credit
University Extension Credit and Graduate Credit are available through California State University San Marcos. See details at http://lynx.csusm.edu/coe/NECC2006/NECC2006Credit.asp (opens in new window).

Continuing education requirements vary by state. Be sure to check with your state or district representative beforehand so that you know exactly what you must do to qualify and what documentation is required. Your Final Program, handout materials, session overviews, etc., may be needed to document content, so please keep them to submit with your certificate. Those who've attended NECC in the past will notice a change from our usual program:
  • The main conference days will be Wednesday–Friday.
  • Workshops will be held Wednesday–Friday, both days and evenings. A limited number of workshops may be held preconference.
  • The Opening Reception is on the 4th of July! It'll be held at the San Diego Convention Center, a perfect location for viewing numerous fireworks displays over the water — be sure to bring the whole family!
