Who am I?

I've just finished being a grad student in Computer Science at Yale University. I now work at Oracle corporation in California. A google search may reveal more pertinent information in case you want to contact me. To contact me for a resume, please use the contact form.

My interests vary over a large domain of things. I've been an avid technologist all my life, and my interests in Technology relate to the Web, Artificial Intelligence, Graphics and Computer Security. Off late, I've been doing work on applying state of the art machine learning and AI techniques through innovative methods to the web.

My focus has been on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. I worked at the Yale Social Robotics lab as part of the NICO project. This project focuses on the development of anthropomorphic robots that interact with people using natural social cues. Socially-competent robots would have great practical impact; naïve users could interact with these robots in a more natural and effortless way, could command them through social instruction, and could integrate them into daily life. This project seeks to address both the technical challenges involved in constructing these robots and the ways in which they can be used as tools to study human social development.

Another part of my research at the undergraduate level was on 3D graphics, working at the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in India. I basically worked on systems using haptic devices, and researched on methods to make more efficient large scale renderings of polygons used in systems such as virtual surgery.

In the past, I've worked on Cryptographic Systems and Protocols, Large scale data processing, Robotics, Network Security and embedded systems. I've contributed to the Drupal, Mambo (now Joomla), Crystalspace, and Opie open source projects, a detailed description of which can be found on my Projects page.

My interests include playing around with technology - web technologies, intelligent programs, robots et al, playing the guitar, reading a wide variety of books, and hiking/trekking to picturesque places.
