Older Stuff

Apache WebServer Modules

I have also done active development of an apache module based on the GeoIP module, for extra functionality and efficiency parameters. I am quite well versed with the module creation API for Apache 1.3, and am currently in the process of contributing more to the effort by submitting patches/bugfixes/reports.

Opie- The Linux based platform for PDAs

Opie is one of the best windowmanagers for Palmtops right now. It is under very active development, and I currently run Opie 1.0 stable on my ipaq 5550. I'm also in the process of contributing to the development effort, presently to the fingerprinting application frontend for QTopia.

The Linux4BE Project

This project was basically started to port Linux on to the Casio BE-300 palmtop. I currently own a BE-300, and it works like a charm on most of the non windows platforms which I've used it with. Linux4BE does run on the MIPS based device, but due to the time constraints which other core developers have been under, this project has been put on hold for now.

CrystalSpace 3D

This is the open source 3D graphics library I occasionally hack on to implement small demos, robotics simulators, or anything which i feel like dabbling in at any particular time.

Mambo OpenSource CMS

A very professional looking, and nifty content management system which is again open source. Amazing templates and component availability, as well as a huge community/user base make it ideal to develop websites on. I run the Mambo IRC channel on Freenode, which is the unofficial support channel for mambo.

Drupal OpenSource CMS

Another amazing CMS, this is what viksit.com itself uses. The advantage of Drupal is it is highly customizable, with themeing becoming a very easy task with the introduction of the PHPTemplating library by Adrian. I have contributed documentation to this project too.

FluxBox Window manager

The most amazing window manager around, It is light, highly customizable and very easy to use. Minimalistic as well, it supports a huge variety of plugins/apps which can become totallly integrated with it. I am presently contributing documentation to this project.

Snort - The OpenSource IDS

Hehe, there seems to be an avalanche of OpenSource here. Why opensource? An article on that should be coming up soon. Snort is one of the world's best intrusion detection systems, with rules and updates forthcoming almost daily, and the community oriented response to attacks makes it an extremely effective choice for both SOHOs and Enterprise people to implement. I am quite well versed with snort, and have given various presentations on it, the latest at Linux Asia 2005, as well as at the Cyber Security Group for the Indian Government's Ministry of Information Technology.
