Drumcliff - High Cross |
My OS map shows the round tower to be 100m or so from the N15, so I really wasn't prepared to see it right on the roadside. Maybe the road has been straightened, but I don't think it has judging by the graveyard on the other side of the road.
The tower is less than half height, having been struck by lightning. It has a very plain doorway and just one small, square window remains.
Parking near this is difficult, so if you are going to stop be prepared to turn right into the church carpark immediately opposite the tower.
