DISCOVER THE JOY OF UNEARTHING THE TREASURES OF THE BIBLE ON YOUR OWN!
When you do a Bible study, do you ever wonder if you're getting the message God wants you to get or the message someone else thinks you need? The Bible is packed with gems of wisdom for living a life that is pleasing to God, and you can discover these gems for yourself—if you know how to dig for them!

The first section of this useful handbook deals with the underlying principles for doing good inductive Bible study—the things you'll need to know in order to do accurate, in-depth study of any kind.

The second section will teach you some of the specific, time-tested methods of Bible study The Navigators have used since the 1940s. You'll learn how to do question-and-answer studies, verse analysis studies, comprehensive chapter analysis studies, topical studies, and studies on biblical characters.

A seminary education for $8
My copy of this book from the 80s was a solid green color. This is one of the single most important books ever published by the Navigators. It has no author listed because it is a compilation of the collective wisdom and experience of all the old-time Navigators from the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Inductive bible study methods are covered here from the simplest to the complex (verse analysis, character study, chapter study, book study, thematic study, etc.). The only one not covered that I was taught back in the 80s by my Navstaff is the Jensen method. For anyone wishing to learn how to do inductive bible study and for those wishing to teach others, this is the quintessential tool. As a bonus, in the back of the book is a comprehensive six year plan for incorporating all the various bible study technicues and basically getting better than a seminary education in the process. As a very wise man by the name of Ralph Winter once said; "don't buy one, buy two. Any good book worth buying for yourself is also worth buying a second to give one away." I am buying ten!
