• How do I register, and why should I?
  We require that you register if you want to take our free continuing education tests to gain hours of CE credit from the CFP Board (see below), or if you wish to participate in one of our vibrant discussion boards.

• What is my "User Name" that's requested when I register?
  That will be the name that appears on messages you post on our discussion boards.
• When is the monthly magazine posted on the Web?
  On or about the first of the month.
• How do I contact a specific person on the editorial or business staffs?

• How do I change my address?

• How do I subscribe to a specific newsletter?
  Click here to subscribe to a specific newsletter, or to unsubscribe. You can also log into your account to pick the specific newsletters you want to receive, and those you don't.
• How do I unsubscribe?

Continuing Education Tests

• Do I have to register with Investment Advisor in order to access the CE Tests?
  Yes, and while InvestmentAdvisor.com has been redesigned as of October 2006, your prior registration remains valid.
• How do I know if I'm registered already?
  If you subscribe to any of our online newsletters or have registered to take CE tests with us prior to Oct. 1, 2006, you already have an account with us. Your e-mail address is your account name. Click on "Log into InvestmentAdvisor.com" within the orange band near the top of the home page, and enter the e-mail address you used when registering originally, and your password.
• If you can't remember your password, click on the "Forgot your password?" link, and your password will be e-mailed to your account e-mail address.
• If you have other troubles logging onto the site, please click the "Problems signing in?" link to send mail to an IA staffer who can help you.
• I am registered and have received an e-mail with my username and password, but when I enter this information, my login fails.
  Your login information is case sensitive; make sure you type in your username and password in the proper case.
• Does Investment Advisor electronically report my CE credits to the CFP Board?
  Yes, we electronically report CE Credits to the CFP Board bi-weekly. When you successfully pass a test, a PDF confirming that you gained an hour of CE credit is displayed immediately on-screen and e-mailed to you.
• How can I tell how many CE hours I've gained from taking the IA tests?
  As soon as you take a test, your score and hour gained is displayed by clicking on "View Your Results" on the list of tests displayed at Investment Advisor's Continuing Education Center.
• Why do I have to provide you with my CFP License number before my CE test will be accepted for scoring?
  We require your license number so we can report CE hours gained directly to the CFP Board, using your unique name and license number.
• Under which of the CFP Board of Standards subjects should the Investment Advisor CE credits be listed?
  Under the "General" category, financial planning process.
• How far can I go back in the issues to take the CE tests?
  We provide a rolling 12 months of CE credit tests. Information contained in tests older than 12 months may be stale and possibly inaccurate.
• Is there any way to take past tests that are not currently listed on the Web site?
  No, once the tests are removed from our site they are no longer available.
• Are the CE tests approved for continuing education for insurance and securities licenses?
  No, they are only pre-approved from the CFP Board. Some states may offer reciprocation with the CFP Board for insurance or securities licensing, but we have no information on that reciprocity: check with your state.
• Is there a fee to take the CE credit tests?
  No, this is a free service.
• I do not have a copy of the magazine, am I still able to take the CE tests?
  Yes, all stories that pertain to the questions on the CE tests are posted on our Web site.
• Can I copy the test in the back of the magazine and then fax it to you?
  Our CE Tests are automated and we cannot accept faxed copies.
• If I fail a test can I take it again?
  Yes, if you fail any of the CE Tests, you can continue to retake them up to and including a third time until you receive a passing grade.
