OZZY OSBOURNE recorded guest lead vocals for The track 'Stillborn' on BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's April 2003 album 'The Blessed Hellride'. Robert Trujillo teamed up with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY for subsequent touring. A matter of days after this liaison was confirmed Trujillo was confirmed as the new METALLICA bass man. Another Ozzy headlined 'Ozzfest' extravaganza was scheduled for the summer in North America commencing on June 28th at the San Antonio, Texas, Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Various supporting acts included KORN, MARILYN MANSON, CRADLE OF FILTH, CHEVELLE and DISTURBED.
In an unexpected and curious turn of events Robert Trujillo joined METALLICA in February whilst former METALLICA and current VOIVOD bassist Jason Newsted teamed up with Ozzy's band a matter of weeks later. Trujillo's laster performance with Ozzy's band came on 14th March at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new look Ozzy band debuted with a run through four tracks, 'War Pigs', 'Believer', 'No More Tears' and 'Crazy Train' on March 17th at a Los Angeles media showcase. Closing a 23 year relationship Ozzy left the Sony Music stable in May. ...
