PHIL SOUSSAN (UK)
London born bassist and songwriter PHIL SOUSSAN made his mark on the international scene as part of mid 80s OZZY OSBOURNE's band during the 'Ultimate Sin' era, notably penning his hit single 'Shot In The Dark'. Previous to this exposure, Soussan had travelled through Punk bands TERMINAL RESCUE and CUDDLY TOYS before hooking up with the Atlantic signed WILDLIFE, featuring on the eponymous 1983 album. He then switched the ROBIN GEORGE band, appearing on 1984's 'Dangerous Music' record and tour. After leaving Osbourne's band Soussan worked with HOLLY KNIGHT, on 1988's 'Holly Knight', BILLY IDOL, on 'Charmed Life' also in 1988, and ROBIN BECK's 1990 record 'First Time'.
Soussan's next move was to form the New York based BEGGARS & THIEVES. After just one album, Soussan struck out again, sessioning for KINGS OF THE SUN and featuring on GLENN HUGHES 'L.A. Blues Authority' record before joining the VINCE NEIL band, where his songwriting featured on the 'Exposed' album. Subsequent work saw involvement with STEVIE SALAS, STEVE LUKATHER and a term of duty with French superstar JOHNNY HALLYDAY. The bassist also appeared on GILBY CLARKE's 1998 'Rubber' album. Touring would find Soussan on the road with PAT TRAVERS, EDGAR WINTER, JOHN WAITE, completing the 'Falling Backwards', 'When You Were Mine' and 'Figure In A Landscape' tours and RICHIE KOTZEN's 'Slow', 'Change' and 'Get Up' dates. ...
