A stylishly distinctive Irish Hard Rock and Blues guitarist, RORY GALLAGHER was born in Ballyshannon, County Donegal, on 2nd March, 1948. He grew up in the city of Cork but based himself in London for much of his 30 year career. The man has engendered enormous respect from fellow musicians for his hard, emotive playing ability, a willingness to experiment and an endearing modesty. Sadly, Star status, in spite of selling a staggering 30 million albums, has always eluded him but his sizable fan following has rarely wavered.

Beginning his career aged fifteen in THE FONTANA SHOW BAND prior to paying his dues on the German and Spanish club circuit, he moved to Cork in 1969 where he formed the Blues based boogie trio TASTE with Charlie McCracken on bass and John Wilson on drums. A highly influential outfit signed to Polydor Records, TASTE had their career consistently blighted by management problems, resulting in an inevitable split especially since towards the end Wilson was even refusing to acknowledge encores...
