Pope Benedict XVI Appoints New Auxiliary Bishop for Archdiocese of Milwaukee

Fr. William P. Callahan, O.F.M. Conv., was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on October 30, 2007.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed Rev. William P. Callahan, O.F.M. Conv., Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on October 30. Bishop-elect Callahan joins Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan and Auxiliary Bishop Richard J. Sklba in service to the 10-county archdiocese.
Bishop-elect Callahan has served as spiritual director of the Pontifical North American College in Rome since 2005. Prior to that he was Rector and Pastor at the Basilica of St. Josaphat in Milwaukee from 1994-2005.
Bishop-elect Callahan will be ordained on Friday, December 21, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
