Mensajero Católico Moves to New Time Slot August 4

Hispanic Catholic Radio Show to Air Saturdays from
8-9 a.m. on La Gran D 104.7 FM

Beginning Saturday, August 4, Mensajero Católico, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee's weekly Hispanic radio program, will air from 8-9 a.m. on La Gran D, 104.7 FM. The show had been airing in the 7-8 a.m. timeslot since its debut on July 15, 2006.

Mensajero Católico, hosted by Otilio Fernandez, features inspirational readings, religious music and Catholic community announcements of meetings, activities and events.

The Archdiocese of Milwaukee and La Gran D management made the time change to attract more listeners to the program, which has been nominated for a Gabriel Award, which recognizes works of excellence in broadcast programs, features, spots, and stations which serve viewers and listeners through the positive, creative treatment of concerns to humankind and is sponsored by the Catholic Academy for Communication Arts Professionals.

"We have had a very positive response to Mensajero Católico and believe the program allows us to reach an important audience within our community," said Kathleen Hohl, archdiocesan communications director. "We appreciate the La Gran D staff who worked with us to make this time change and are confident that even more people throughout southeastern Wisconsin will benefit from the content of Mensajero Católico."
