Rozonda Ocelean Thomas (born February 27, 1971) is an American R&B singer and actress best known by her stage name, Chilli.

Thomas was born in Atlanta, Georgia, [citation needed] She was raised by her African-American mother in the Atlanta area.

Thomas was first a dancer for Damian Dame. In 1991 she joined the group TLC, replacing founding member Crystal Jones after Tionne Watkins and Lisa Lopes found it was necessary to replace her. Soon after meeting Watkins and Lopes she was christened the name Chilli so the name TLC could be kept. TLC became known not only for their success, but the problems. Such as filing for bankruptcy, and Lopes burning down Andre Rison's home. Through their four studio albums and numerous singles, TLC went on to sell over 43 million records worldwide and solidify themselves as one of the best selling girl groups of all-time. Their last album 3D, was released in Novemeber 2002, seven months after the death of bandmate Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.

In 1995, and again in 2003, she was voted one of People magazine's "The 50 Most Beautiful People".

In the time since TLC's last studio album, Thomas has hosted a radio show in Atlanta and has engaged in charitable activities. In 2006 she was number 90 on Maxim's Hot 100.

She made guest appearances on shows such as The Parkers, That 70s Show, and Strong Medicine. In 2000 she was featured in the made-for-television movies A Diva's Christmas Carol (with Vanessa L. Williams) and Love Song (with Monica), and in the film Snow Day. In 2001 she co-starred in the action film Ticker.

In 2006 Thomas was rumored to have signed a four-album deal with Akon's Interscope Records label Kon Live Distribution, which will release solo debut album was to be released in Fall 2007. On August 31, Chilli has confirmed that she is not signed with Akon and she is currently unsigned but looking over a few label offers. [1] The album will still include work done with executive producer Missy Elliott as well as tracks produced by Timbaland, Dallas Austin and Will.i.am. Some of the songs have already been leaked on the Internet. A track titled "Gameproof", featuring T-Boz was leaked in Spring 2006. On February 16, 2007, "Straight Jack", a track featuring Missy Elliott produced by Polow Da Don, was leaked but will not be featured on her debut album. The song's composition is now used by Nicole Scherzinger's first single, "Whatever U Like". Chilli both sings and raps on the leaked tracks. "Straight Jack" recently entered the Deutsche Black Chart in at #35. [2] The former first single, "Glidin'" leaked on the internet May 15, 2007. The first single later became Gameproof.


Chilli recently confirmed in an interview that Point of View is not the name of her album, and it was simply made up. [3]

In a recent interview from CyberTLCWorld, she asked fans to request Gameproof (feat. T-Boz), she is unsigned and is completely done with her album and hopes to release it in 2007. She did confirm that she does NOT have an official Myspace page but may create one in the future. [4]

Chilli is now working on a line of handbags, titled, Bags by Chilli. [5].

Chilli also would like to start her own record label in the near future.

On June 2, 1997, Thomas gave birth to her son Tron, whose father is long-time TLC producer Dallas Austin. In 1995, Thomas met her birth father on The Sally Jessy Raphaël show. Chilli recently dated CNN News anchor T.J. Holmes. She is a close friend of Hill Harper.

Thomas began getting involved with Usher Raymond around Fall 2000. The couple called it quits in 2004. Rumors about Usher's album, Confessions being about Chilli were proven false by Chilli herself when she phoned in for a radio interview where she would address these (among other) allegations. It is rumored that ever since the breakup, Usher has been trying to get Chilli back. Even up until Usher's recent marriage. Chilli still remains friends with Usher's mother.
