Simple by design.

The new Xserve is designed for maximum performance in a minimum of space.

Xserve front panel

More up front.

The new Xserve features a front-panel USB 2.0 port, making it easier to connect and access a USB keyboard, mouse, or mass storage device.

Quick look.

Get an at-a-glance view of power, the enclosure lock, Ethernet links, the system identifier, and all network activity. The lock secures the ports, drives, and enclosure.

Xserve power supply

Power supply. Times two.

Xserve has optional dual redundant power supplies. Hot swappable and load sharing, they provide enhanced redundancy — and easy serviceability in case of a failure.

Keeping it cool.

The Xserve uses two well-placed ducts to improve air circulation. Fans run only as fast as they need to — for reduced power usage, longer fan life, and less noise.

Xserve identification card

Xserve ID.

System vital statistics are printed on the system identification card on the back of Xserve for asset tracking and support. And there’s room for your site-specific information like host name and IP address.

Fits right in.

Xserve fits into all types of standard racks and cabinets, so you can use what you already have or buy new racks right off the shelf to meet your specific requirements. There’s no need for a special “Apple rack.” You can install the server in any of several kinds of racks, including open four-post racks and cabinets from 24 to 36 inches deep.

Xserve box

Think inside the box.

Only Apple can deliver a tightly integrated hardware and software solution that’s so powerful and easy to set up and use. No extra hardware or software is required for Xserve. Everything you need is already in the box.

Inside, you’ll find quick-deployment rails for faster and easier installation and deployment. The new rail design supports a wide variety of four-post racks and cabinets, letting you use Xserve with existing gear. The system information card on the back provides all the server’s vital statistics — on a flexible card that you can easily read no matter where the unit is installed in your rack. And, by popular demand, the new Xserve includes a USB port on the front panel, making it easier to connect a USB keyboard, mouse, or mass storage device.
