Moving Here

Moving Here is a database of over 200,000 digitised items related to migration to England over the last 200 years. It is led by The National Archives and funded by The New Opportunities Fund. 30 national and local museums, archives and libraries have contributed material from their collections for users to download free of charge. In addition, there is a growing number of personal migration stories contributed by members of the public.

These documents have been developed with Moving Here partners in the course of managing the project in order to ensure its digital assets are described and preserved to an appropriate level. Any organisation undertaking a similar digitisation project might find them useful.
