International activity

The National Archives plays a key role in international archival and records management matters. We benefit, in this capacity, from our expert teams who advise on the records of central government, local and public authorities, as well as private archives in the United Kingdom.

This section contains translations into French, German and Spanish of our most recent best practice guidelines on managing digital records and The National Archives Standard for Record Repositories which is the UK's benchmark for preserving and providing access to records in publicly accessible archives.

We have also brought together information on collaborative programmes in the international arena.
