Advice

One of our tasks at The National Archives is to give advice about the care of other archival collections. These collections may be held by a public body or remain in private hands. Their size varies enormously, and they are to be found throughout the United Kingdom.

We advise both on the management of current records and the care of historical archives. As one of the world's leading archive services, we play a major role in developing the internationally-recognised standards which are the basis of our advice.

The Office of Public Sector Information, operating from within The National Archives, provides advice and guidance on the re-use of public sector information, Crown copyright and official publishing.
