 The Cenotaph Ceremony is an unique expression of national homage, devoted primarily to remembrance of the dead of the two world wars. It is attended by the Sovereign and all the principal representatives of Parliament, the governments of the Commonwealth, the Armed Forces and the Churches.

 The Queen's Guard in London changes in the Forecourt of Buckingham Palace at 11:30am every day in the summer and every other day in the winter. The Guard comprises two detachments, one each for Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, under the command of the Captain of The Queen's Guard.

 The Queen's Life Guard are the mounted troopers of the Household Cavalry who guard the official entrance to St James's Palace and Buckingham Palace outside Horse Guards in Whitehall.

 The official birthday of the Sovereign is marked each year by a colourful and historic military parade and march-past, known as Trooping the Colour. It takes place each June on Horse Guards Parade.

 In a normal year Her Majesty The Queen officially receives two foreign heads of State as guests of the Court of St James's. These may be Foreign Monarchs, Presidents or Prime Ministers.

 On two successive evenings in June, London's famous Horse Guards Parade, off Whitehall in the centre of the city, resounds to the stirring sounds of the Massed Bands of the Household Division as they perform the Beating Retreat

 Each year the Sovereign drives in State to Westminster for the State Opening of Parliament escorted of the Household Cavalry. Military street liners guard the whole route and present arms as the Royal Procession passes.
