With the recent arrival of a new AAC Hot Air Balloon, which is has been sponsored by EDS, planning is now underway to carry out the air activity as part of the AAC Land/Sea/Air Jubilee Expeditions in 2007.
The balloon will take part in two activities, the first being an expedition in the South of France around July/August, where it is planned to introduce as many members of the Corps as possible to the experience of Hot Air Ballooning in a challenging environment. Regiments will soon be requested to select a suitable period that they are able to send members of their regiment to participate in the expeditioin.
The second part of the air activity will be a cross-channel flight involving a number of balloons and as many AAC personnel as possible in an endurance flight across the English Channel, again regiment will be informed closer to the time and when more details are known.
