Windsurfing

Welcome to the website of the Army Air Corps Windsurfing Team.  Established in 1996, the team has a relatively short history in Army sporting terms.  Nonetheless our team have achieved superb results in Tri-Service, Army and Individual competition.  Some of our sailors compete in national events on the United Kingdom Windsurfing Association (UKWA) circuit.

Our team ethos is to have the maximum fun possible, whilst enjoying what has to be the most amazing freeride sport on the planet.  Windsurfing in its’ very nature is a nomadic sport and sailors tend to live in campervans following low pressure systems as the track around the country.

The Army Windsurfing yearly events calendar is always full, with events taking place every month at various locations around the south coast.  You can find more details here.

We have a full range of modern equipment from beginners and intermediates (Starboard STARTS) to top of the range Formula Windsurfing racing equipment (Starboard Formula 147, 156, 159, 175 and 186).  All boards come with a complement of complete rigs and are available for all AAC members to use for free.

Team members can enjoy top of the range equipment use, access to RYA qualified instructors, a full competition calendar, 3rd party and equipment insurance and an annual overseas windsurfing trip.  The 2006 training camp is in Lake Garda, Italy!  The wind in Lake Garda is very consistent and more importantly, strong, blowing force 5+ every day.  Check out our base camp here.
