Back with another quick taster before the album proper drops, Warp's new disco-punk-funk signings build on the promise of their last EP to deliver another incendiary dose of propulsive tight rhythms, spiky guitars and edgy electronics that go to show they're no second-rate Rapture but genuine contenders in their own right.

Lead track Pardon My Freedom comes straight at you like the Happy Mondays being kept in check by the DFA. With cow bells set to stun, the track builds into a mess of sirens and screaming synths before kicking back into that killer bass line, angular new wave guitars and mantra-like vocals. Perfectly capturing the sound that is causing most uproar on the strobe-lit dance floors of the capital this year.

On the flip, Shitscheissemerde is a much more low key affair: hushed vocals and distant bleeps ride a stripped down rhythm track, building incessantly towards a noisy climax before hints of surf guitar and muted brass carry the track to the end. All in all a perfect taster for their forthcoming Louden Up Now long player and further proof - should it be needed - that over a decade of success hasn't blunted Warp's ability to spot and promote talent, whatever the genre.
