Congratulations on making the leap from Encyclopedia Dramatica lurker to EDitor. To survive on ED, first look around, note why other people get banned and don't be those people. You probably fall into one of two main categories:
- 1. The Newfag:
- Before attempting to create your first article check out ED:101. It will save you the shame of having your {{shit}} {{stub}} get the {{deathnotice}} and being mocked by EDiots with tenure and molested by ED Sysops.
- If you don't know shit about wiki formatting and code, please read ED:BASIC and the Style Guide. Take your time and start slowly. Try checking out random articles and fixing typos, grammar and/or bullshit where you find them before trying to make a new page.
- 2. The Migrant: You're an experienced wiki user who knows most of the formatting tricks and moved here ready to rock. If this is you, please read ED:101 for how we roll at ED and ED:MIGRANT for tips on assimilation and some basic rules.
Whoever you are, welcome to Encyclopedia Dramatica! Please read up on our policies and be sure to communicate with other EDitors through talk pages, the TJC, ED IRC and ED Myspace. If you plan on sticking around, feel free to make your mark on the ED:Map.
