Census records are invaluable in helping you find your ancestors. Discover who was living at the same address as your ancestor and start building your family tree.

Search the censuses websites free of charge by name, and refine your search using further fields. Download images and information from a census entry for a small fee. Follow the links listed below to the appropriate external co-branded websites, hosted under an enhanced licensing arrangement.

You may access the 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 census records free on site at The National Archives in Kew and the Family Records Centre in Islington, courtesy of Ancestry.co.uk and 1901Censusonline.com. Please note that standard on site charges for printing paper copies will still apply.
