California's 16th congressional district covers part of Santa Clara County including much of central San Jose. The current Representative for this district is Democrat Zoe Lofgren.

John Kerry received 63% of the vote in this district in 2004; George W. Bush received 36%.[1] The district voted for Arnold Schwarzenegger 50-46% in 2006,[2] Dianne Feinstein 70-25% in 2006,[3] Barbara Boxer 67-29% in 2004,[4] keeping Gray Davis 57-43%[5] and Cruz Bustamante 41-39%[6] in 2003, and Davis 56-31% in 2002.[7]
