Florida's 5th congressional district

Florida's 5th Congressional District comprises all of or parts of Pasco County, Hernando County, Lake County, Citrus County, Levy County, Marion County, Polk County, Sumter County. The residents of this district are currently represented by Republican Ginny Brown-Waite.
The Florida state legislature redrew the boundaries of district 5 after the United States Census, 2000. The areas that were removed include the coastal cities of Port Richey and New Port Richey. George W. Bush received 58% of the vote in this district in 2004. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of R +5.
