MEMBERS
Find your Legislator
Locate your legislator by using the Alphabetical List of Members,
an alphabetical list by Municipality, a numeric list of Legislative
Districts or an Interactive Map of Legislative Districts where
you can click on the part of the state in which you live and
it will display your legislators.
When
using the Alphabetical
List of Members, all Senators are listed first,
followed by Assemblymen/Assemblywomen. If you click on the legislator's
name, you will be linked to his/her legislative home page.
Municipality
allows you to click on the first letter of your municipality
or scroll through the alphabetical list to locate it. Once you
locate your municipality and click on the link it will show
you all of the other municipalities that comprise your legislative
district. If you then click on your district number you will
be able to see the legislators for that district with their
names being a link to their legislative home page.
Legislative District enables you to click on your district
number. Once you click your district number you will see the
municipalities in your district, and you can click on the district
number again to view your list of legislators with their names
being a link to their legislative home page.
Legislative Leadership
This shows you the leadership positions and who holds them for
both houses of the legislature. The legislator's names are a
link to their legislative home page.
Legislative Roster
This is a district list in numeric order that gives each legislator
for a district, their party, and their district office address
and telephone number. The legislator's names are a link to their
legislative home page
Seating Charts
This enables you to first choose whether you wish to view the
Senate Seating Chart or the Assembly Seating Chart. Once you
choose a link, a floor diagram of the chambers is displayed
showing where each legislator sits.
Bills
2006-2007
You can search for a bill by Bill Number, Keyword(s), Bill
Sponsor, Bill Subject, Bills in Committee, or Thesaurus.

Once the appropriate bill number is located you can click
on the bill number to view the bill sponsors, bill history,
and bill text links. Bill text is available in both Adobe

Bill Subscription Service
The subscription list is a feature that allows users to create
and maintain a list of bills. This is a fast and easy way for
subscribers to track a group of bills throughout the legislative
session. This free service is a time saver for users who track
large numbers of bills. As a subscriber, you create a list of
bills that enables you to retrieve the latest status and information
for all of the bills on your list.
COMMITTEES
Senate Committees
This provides a list of all the Senate committees. When you
click on a committee link, a list of it's members will be displayed.
When you click on the committee member's name it will take you
to their legislative home page. If you click on the committee
name link above the members list it will take you to a list
of bills in that committee. When you click on a bill number,
it will take you to a list of the bills sponsors, bill history,
and links to the bill text.
The
Committee Aides link below the Senate Committees link takes
you to a list of all the Senate committees. When you click on
a committee name it will show you the Republican, Democratic,
and OLS Aide for that committee as well as their phone number.
When you click on the OLS Aide's name it is a link to their

DISTRICTS
Districts by Number
This first gives you the opportunity to choose the session you
wish to view and then you can click on your district number
link. Once you click your district number, you will see the
municipalities in your district, and you can click on the district
number again to view your list of legislators. The legislator's
names are a link to their legislative home page
District Map
This first gives you the opportunity to choose the session you
wish to view, and then you can see how the state is divided
into legislative districts and the district numbers for each
part of the state..
Municipalities Index
This first gives you the opportunity to choose the session you
wish to view, and then it allows you to click on the first letter
of your municipality or scroll through the list to locate it.
Once you locate your municipality and click on the link it will
show you all of the other municipalities that comprise your
legislative district. If you then click on your district number
you will be able to see the legislators for that district with
their names being a link to their legislative home page.
LAWS & CONSTITUTION
Statutes
This takes you to the title list of the New Jersey Statutes
database. You can click on the plus sign to the left of a particular
title to see all the statute sections that are within that title.
You can then click on a statute section number link to see the
statute text.
If
you know the statute section number you are looking for you
can type citation number enclosed in double quotes and click
on the Search button. You can then click on the statute section
number link to view the statute text.
You
can also search by keyword by typing the word and then click
on the Search button. If you are looking for a phrase be sure
to enclose the search text in double quotes.
Chapter Laws
You first get the opportunity to click on the chapter laws by
session year which gives you access to Chapter Laws and Joint
Resolution for that two year period. Both the Chapter Laws and
Joint Resolution have links to the bill they are regarding and
the text of the law or resolution.
Also
in this area, you can view a subject Index to the Chapter Laws
by year. There is then a link to the Chapter Law text within
the subject listing.
Constitution
This gives you the option to view the Complete Text of the New
Jersey State Constitution or Search the Text of the New Jersey
State Constitution.
When
searching the Constitution, you can click on the plus sign to
the left of a particular article to see the available sections
with in that article. When you then click on the link to the
section number and the section text will be displayed. You can
also search by typing a keyword or phrase and then click on
the Search button. If you are looking for a phrase be sure to
enclose the search text in double quotes.
LEGISLATIVE
PUBLICATIONS
Budget & Finance
This takes you to links from the Legislative Budget and Finance
office which shows general information regarding that unit.
An Analysis of the Governor's Budget link gives you the opportunity
to choose the fiscal year you want to view the analysis from.
You can also access a summary of the Annual Appropriations Act
as well as the OLS Revenue Snapshot, a brief report that includes
a narrative summary of major tax collection trends in the fiscal
year, and a table that compares revenues in the current fiscal
year to the comparable amount received at the same point in
the prior fiscal year.
Audit Reports
This is a link to the office of the State Auditor containing
general office information as well as a list of annual reports,
audit reports, and quarterly reports. Click on the link in the
appropriate list to view the audit text. There is also a staff
directory for the office of the State Auditor available on this
page
Legislative Reports
This gives a list of legislative reports issued by the Office
of Legislative Services with a link to the report text.
Legislative Digest
You have access to the current Legislative Digest as well as
past issues of the digest which is produced the day after a
session of either house providing up to date information of
legislative activity. You also have access to the Last Date
of Action report which shows the status and history of any bills
that were active on the specific date of the report.
Public Hearing Transcripts
This link allows you to view the full text of transcribed public
hearings and meetings broken down by year. Once you click on
the link for the year of the public hearings, you can then choose
the hearing to view by clicking on the appropriate link.

This takes you to a text explanation of how the New Jersey Legislature
is designed. Information on legislators, districts, sessions,
