Welcome to video on the Backyard
As part of the expansion of ABC services throughout Australia, the Backyard is beginning to provide some of its stories in video formats.
Currently we only provide video as RealMedia, and you can find out more about the FREE RealPlayer for playing RealMedia videos, here.
In most cases the video is provided in Narrowband and Broadband formats.
Narrowband
This format enables people with dialup modems to watch these videos on demand. You will still need a relatively good connection to get narrowband videos to play well.
Broadband
The broadband format is for people who are connected to the internet via cable, ADSL, or Satellite in the main. It requires a very good connection to get these videos to run properly, however you get a larger video and a better quality picture.
Latest Video
You'll find a selection of video stories shot and edited by ABC program makers around the country posted here in Real Media format. If you can't find it here, try going to the stations own web site, using the drop down menu at the bottom of this page.
