Journey to a Hate Free Millennium is an inspiring documentary that offers insights and seeks solutions to the severe and proliferating instances of hate crime in modern life. Documenting recent crimes that have shocked America and the world -- the vicious murder of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming, the dragging death of James Byrd, Jr., in Texas and the unfathomable shootings at Columbine High School in Colorado -- this stirring film also seeks to provide insight into these tragedies, and to find viable solutions to the serious problem of violence motivated by hate. Featuring the participation of Elton John, Kathy Najimy, Olivia Newton-John, actor John Dye (TV's Touched by an Angel) and Cyndi Lauper, the film also consults community leaders, educators, and many of the victims' friends. The families of Matthew Shepard, James Byrd and Columbine shooting victim Rachel Scott share their stories to form the beginning of a constructive and healing dialogue that addresses violence and hate head on.
