Country superstar Kenny Chesney [ tickets ] has settled on "Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates" as the title of his next album, and has dished out the set's first single, "Never Wanted Nothing More."

"I tried on so many titles," Chesney said in a press release. "But, in the end, it was the simplest name that fit this record the best. 'Just Who I Am: Poets & Pirates' pretty much says it all ... At the end of the day, you strip it all off, and that's what it comes down to: great songs that are about the smallest things and people who're living just beyond the rules.

"I mean, a lot of my friends in the islands, they're living the pirate life," he continued, "and you could say that anyone living on the road, always waking up somewhere else, they're living the pirate life, too. But I think a lot of my fans, they're really the pirates. You know, they show up at the office, but their souls never leave the ocean or the lake or wherever they get away to. Their spirit is free, even though they look like one more 9-to-5'er or shiftworker."

"Never Wanted Nothing More" hit radio stations Monday (6/4), according to a press release. The forthcoming album, meanwhile, does not yet have a firm release date, nor a finalized tracklisting.

Chesney is working on the album while mounting a tour that will keep him on the road through early September.

Joss Stone, Sean Paul, Kings of Leon, Gym Class Heroes, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Andrew Bird, The Frames, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Ian Ball (of Gomez), The Greyboy Allstars, Art Brut, The Damnwells, Anberlin, Barrington Levy, Zap Mama, Bouncing Souls and Mae have all joined the roster of acts scheduled to perform at this year's Bumbershoot [ tickets ] festival in Seattle.

Other newcomers who've signed on to perform include K'NAAN, Mocean Worker, Rosie Thomas, Honeydripper All-Stars, My Brightest Diamond, Seaweed, Rose Hill Drive, The Watson Twins, Stars of Track and Field, Honeycut, Ohmega Watts, Ian McFeron Band, Schoolyard Heroes and Bloodhag. More acts will be announced, according to organizers.

As previously reported, the indoor/outdoor festival is scheduled to take place Labor Day weekend (Sept. 1-3). More information is available at the event's website.

Bright Eyes [ tickets ]--the brainchild of Conor Oberst--has booked a Sept. 29 gig at Los Angeles's Hollywood Bowl, during which the group will perform with The Los Angeles Philharmonic orchestra. Dolly Parton [ tickets ] will become a "lifetime member of Girl Scouts of Tanasi Council" during a June 15 presentation at her Dollywood entertainment complex in Pigeon Forge, TN, according to a press release. More than 1,000 Girl Scouts will take part in the event.

"While I was never a Girl Scout myself when I was a kid, I always wanted to be," Parton said in a prepared statement. "This great honor lets me live out a dream and be a part of an organization that stands for many of the same values I do and Dollywood does."
