Tom Jones
"This Is Tom Jones: Legendary Performers"
(Time Life)

Admirers of lounge act Tom Jones take note: the early days of the sweet-talking crooner's career are now available on DVD. As the host of ABC's "This is Tom Jones" from 1969 to 1971, Jones highlighted major entertainers, many featured in this 180-minute montage of footage. Catch dated performances by Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Bobby Darin, Jerry Lee Lewis and more, as well as Jones' signature shop-closing concerts.

The Beatles
"Destination Hamburg"
(MVD Audio)

The British phenomenon known as The Beatles has warranted an untold number of documentaries, including this short, 60-minute creation focusing on the group's time in Hamburg, Germany in the early '60s, available February 19. Radio interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and John Lennon make the cut, along with an exclusive discussion with a fellow collaborator, Tony Sheridan. Conspicuously absent, however, are actual Beatles performances.

Kurt Cobain
"Kurt Cobain: About a Son"
(Shout! Factory)

Now, more than 10 years after Kurt Cobain's death, followers of the grunge movement can get a bird's eye perspective on the Nirvana frontman's melancholy life with this in-depth documentary hitting shelves February 19. Using snippets of previously unreleased audio interviews by music journalist Michael Azerrad, the two-hour film recounts Cobain's life from childhood through rock stardom with the help of his own words. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie provides the original score, and more than 20 artists influential in Cobain's life also contribute.

Jill Scott
"Jill Scott: Live in Paris"
(Hidden Beach)

Soul songstress Jill Scott has brought an intimate and fairly covert post-Thanksgiving Parisian performance at Elysee Montmartre to disc. The platinum selling, Grammy Award-winning singer requested cameras be tucked away with absolutely no intrusion into the two-night run. From the recording session comes eight solid tracks, including "The Way," "Golden," "He Loves Me" and "My Petition," as well as four favorites from her standing room only concerts at L.A.'s House of Blues. The deluxe edition of "Live in Paris" also offers an audio disc of the Parisian show. Both versions are now on sale.
